What is the full form of NDA

NDA full form or full form of NDA is or NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. It is the first tri-service academy in the world which is located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra. This academy is a joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces.

Indian Army, Indian Air force and Indian Navy, all the three services of India get training together. It is basic and mandatory training. They go to their respective service academies for pre-commissioning training after this training.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting The National Defense Academy exam for the recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defense Academy. It conducts this exam twice a year. This is the two-stage exam, written exam, and SSB Interview.

UPSC conducts written exams and wide-ranging interviews by the SSB. These interviews cover general aptitude, psychological testing, and team skills as well as physical and social skills, along with medical tests. Around 6000 candidates are called for SSB Interview out of around 4 lakh aspirants sit for NDA every year.
What are the criteria for the NDA exam?

In order to be eligible for the exam, candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.
Marital status: Candidate should not be married.

Age Limit: Candidate age must be approximately 16.5 years to 19.5 years. Candidate must check “not born earlier than’ and “not born later than” dates before apply for NDA 1 exam. 

Date of birth mentioned on the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation is considered being valid for this.

Educational qualification: For different academies the educational qualification is different.
Army Wing of National Defense Academy: Aspirant must have passed Class 12/HSC under 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent from a recognized board or university.

Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy of National Defense Academy: With Physics and Mathematics an aspirant must have passed Class 12/HSC under 10+2 pattern of school education conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

NOTE: After qualifying, the exam candidate who has been selected has to undertake not to marry for the duration of the training. In case of failure to observe this condition, it would cause the debarment of the candidate from NDA. In addition, it is required to be refunded any charge incurred on him by the government.


What is the NDA Nationality Criteria?

NDA Nationality Criteria is that all the candidates need to meet the criteria mentioned below. A candidate must be either one of the following:
A citizen of India
A subject of Bhutan
A subject of Nepal
A refugee from Tibbat who moved to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling here permanently
A PIO (Person of Indian origin) is a person who has migrated from the countries specified below, with the intention of permanently settling in India. The nationals from the following countries would fall under this category.
Burma
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
The United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia
Vietnam

NOTE: All the foreign nationals are required to produce a certificate of eligibility that has been issued by the Government of India. In the case of those candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal this certificate will not be needed.
What is the selection process of NDA?

The complete selection process of NDA in detail is as follows: (1) Filling the application form (2) Release of admit card (3) Written Exam (4) Declaration of result (5) SSB Interview (6) Final Selection

Filling the application form: aspirants who want to appear for this exam have to fill the NDA application form online. The fee of the application form can be paid both offline and online. For a specified period, examination authority activates the link to withdraw the NDA application form. 

Those aspirants who do not want to appear for this exam they can withdraw their application form.  A few days later after the closure of the application process commission releases the list of rejected applicants.

Release of admit card: three weeks before the exam examination authority releases the NDA admit card. By logging either with roll number or registration number applicant can download his admit card from the available link on the official website. 

Hard copy off admits card will not be sent by examination authority to candidates by post or in other means.

Written Exam: those who successfully register for the exam are required to appear for the written exam.  General Ability Test and Mathematics are the two parts of the written exam. This test is of a total of 900 marks. A candidate who got minimum qualifying marks in the written exam is called for SSB Interview.

Declaration of the result: the online declaration of result is done in two stages - written and final. The written exam result is declared first and then the final result is declared. 

PDF format result is made available online and it displays against the roll numbers of qualified candidates. After the declaration of the final result, the mark sheet of candidates is released.
SSB Interview: Intelligence and Personality are tested by SSB Interview. SSB Interview has two stages. On the first day of reporting at Selection Centers / Naval Selection Boards /Air Force Selection Boards, all qualified candidates are put to stage 1 test. 

Those who qualify for the first stage are called for the second stage exam. And candidates who qualify the second stage are required to submit a pass certificate and a birth certificate.

Final Selection: on basis of their performance in written exam and SSB Interview Candidates are finally selected for admission to admission to Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of NDA and INAC. 

As per the number of vacancies and subject to the candidate’s eligibility, medical fitness, and merit-cum-preference final allocation are done.
